Square Enix Considering Porting Final Fantasy XI to the Playstation Vita

While it certainly would not be the first time Square Enix would consider porting Final Fantasy XI to a portable console, a page out of a popular Japanese publication Famitsu seems to have some words from Hiromichi Tanaka stating that Square Enix might be considering porting Final Fantasy XI to the Playstation Vita.
With the Playstation Vita having 3g capabilities and the console being more than able to handle Playstation 2 specs, it would be indeed be possible for a game like Final Fantasy XI to exist. The issue here would be… why such an old game? Final Fantasy XI has been known to be a game that requires a lot of time investment and while the game itself has had some improvements in requiring such a time commitment, would the game in its current form be able to sell?
