Rumors About Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3

With the San Diego Comic Con just around the corner, there has been rumors being spread around involving an upgraded version of Marvel vs Capcom 3 called Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Capcom has officially announced that Ryota Niitsuma would be showing up to Comic Con and EVO2k11 with some news regarding Marvel vs Capcom 3. Now, the news could pretty much be anything but an upgraded version is completely viable and I can explain why.
- Marvel vs Capcom 3′s DLC has pretty much stopped completely ever since the introduction of Jill/Shuma and the 6 DLC costumes. Nothing was really added onto the disc as it seems like all of these items were on the disc already.
- There’s a lot of complaints about the online mode not having spectator or a replay function. That would be something that would not be fixable with a patch.
- Data on the Disc indicate that Frank West and Doctor Octopus were going to be in the game. No mention of them at all outside of that.
- It’s Capcom, it’s what they do.
I wouldn’t say that this is a surprise, given that even though Marvel vs Capcom 3 was successful, it featured a long line of balancing issues and complaints by fans. Some of these changes might not be fixable with just a simple patch (X-Factor comes to mind).
The character roster is rumored to jump up to 50, 12 more on top of what MvC3 had including Jill and Shuma. This makes me believe that… maybe we will see Strider Hiryu again… Just maybe.
