In light of Mega Man Legends 3 hitting the trash can, Capcom has officially announced Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, an upgrade to Marvel vs Capcom 3 which will be in a form of a retail disc.
Straight from the fact sheet provided by Capcom, the game will bring “Twelve new legends from Marvel and Capcom” bringing the total roster up to 48 and 50 with DLC (I assume this is Jill and Shuma). And one of those characters happen to be my boy Strider friggen Hiryu! Other announced characters include Firebrand (or Red Arremer), Hawkeye and Ghost Rider. There will be plenty more to be announced later, probably by the time Comic Con rolls around.
What other things have they changed? Well, it looks like there’s a new UI which emphasizes the whole X in X-Factor. There’s adjustments for characters but as far as they go, pretty skim details other than Spencer having a dive kick. And, as requested, there’s now a spectator mode for the online mode and all this comes in a nice little package at the cost of $39.99 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Expect the game to come out November 2011.
Now, before anyone thinks that this is a ripoff and Capcom is milking you for your money: Yeah, they’re milking you for your money… but MvC3 is a good game, a great game actually. I’m down to throw another 40 for this title!
