Full List of NES Games For The 3DS Ambassadors Program

The 3DS Ambassadors Program is finally reaching the point where earlier adopters of the 3DS will finally get something! With September 1st just a mere 2 days away, Nintendo has revealed the final list of the 10 NES games that will be downloadable and playable on your 3DS (assume you’re an ambassador to begin with).
Those final 10 games (with the newly announced games being bolded) are…
- Super Mario Bros.
- Donkey Kong Jr.
- Balloon Fight
- Ice Climber
- The Legend of Zelda
- Metroid
- NES Open Tournament Golf
- Wrecking Crew
- Zelda II – The Adventure of Link
- Yoshi
Metroid was more or less expected, given that Metroid Fusion is in the GBA list and Metroid II due out soon on the Game Boy Virtual Console. Zelda II I would also say is more or less expected as well. If I had to make a solid guess, I would say Link to the Past (The GBA port) might be on the GBA list and maybe we might run into the Oracle series as well in the future. That would complete the Zelda collection outside of a potential retail release of Majora’s Mask on the 3DS. An effort has been going on to get a 3DS port of Majora’s Mask for quite some time and even has the blessings of Robin William’s Daughter: Zelda Williams.
As for the rest… GOLF HELL YEAH!
If you’re an ambassador, you can download these starting September 1st. I notice this requires some special instructions as stated in the FAQ Nintendo provided. You will need to do this to download your NES games.
- From the Nintendo 3DS HOME menu, select the Nintendo eShop icon.
- Scroll left and select “Settings / Other.”
- Scroll down and select “Account Activity” to view a list of transactions.
- The NES game will be listed here once it is available to download. Tap “Software Info,” and then “Redownload” to begin the download process.
The GBA Ambassador titles will be revealed and downloadable later this year. Remember that these GBA titles are planned to be ambassador only and cannot be downloaded outside of the ambassador’s program. Don’t expect to buy some of these gems!
