Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II Brings Plenty of Changes

So, how many of you picked up Sonic 4: Episode I when it dropped? How many of you had 100% trophies/achievements before the end of the day? That’s how religious I was about Sonic 4. Sonic 4 was a classic change in direction for today’s speed-boosting hedgehog. However, with physics issues, and controls feeling more loose than usual, Episode I didn’t quite see to its full potential. Then again, it’s the first step in bringing Sonic back to his roots (honestly, I dunno how many times I’m going to have to hear that), you’re bound to make some mistakes.
Fans all over have posted to Sega on numerous occasions about likes, dislikes, and improvements that will make Episode II a better entry. According to this GameSpot interview with Digital Brand Manager Ken Balough, they have listened accurately and as within the scope of development as possible to incorporate these changes to bring back that good old feeling of the Genesis titles. Also, for those of you who like a certain two-tailed fox, you’ll be happy to know that Tails will be joining Sonic this time instead of just, you know, being in that one small transition going to the final zone.
Well, don’t let me keep you, go and watch the interview, which also includes the teaser trailer for Episode II.
Is it me, or does that Tails beard rock for massive win? Talk about communicating the point. Despite a lukewarm reception, I still feel Sonic 4: Episode I was worth it. If you think about it, it’s the first part of Sonic 4 so it’s not the entire game as a whole. I feel Sonic 4′s final judgment should come after the final entry in the game. There’s still much room for improvement. So, who is all excited to see Metal Sonic’s return? I should totally find my Sonic comic #25..
Also, notice the lack of Nintendo platforms in the platform announcement? Episode I came to the Wii. Perhaps this will be explained later.
