Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City’s Heroes Mode Lets You Choose A Side

I’m going to be upfront with you. I wasn’t exactly excited for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. It threw me off a bit and I didn’t quite care for a while. Then the gameplay poured in and I got somewhat interested. I was beginning to think that maybe this was the right move for the franchise. Even if I don’t like the idea being thrown off to another developer, it may be what is needed to give Capcom some ideas on being less generic with game elements.

Enter the new Heroes Mode. You pick a side, pick a character, and battle to eliminate the other team. Rather straight forward it sounds, yes? On the heroes side we have Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliveira, Claire Redfield, and Leon Kennedy. Villain side includes Hunk, Nicholai Ginovaef, Lone Wolf, and Ada Wong. Each character brings unique abilities such as special explosive technology and optical stealth. Watching the trailer, this mode feels a lot more unique and fun compared to the Versus mode on Resident Evil 5, which felt rather generic, slow, and with rather trivial differences between the characters themselves. I think Heroes Mode is something that should be taken note of, especially with Resident Evil exploring multiplayer.

You can watch the trailer below.
