Blizzard: No BlizzCon in 2012, Will Be Back For BlizzCon 2013

In a recent press release that clearly shows the tactic of “Good News, Bad News,” Blizzard announced the 2012 Battle.net World Championship, an international tournament that will place the entire world in battle in Starcraft 2 and World of Warcraft Arenas. This will take place in Asia towards the end of 2012. That, is of course, the good news if you’re one of those eSports types. The bad news is that BlizzCon has been delayed to 2013 due to Blizzard’s packed schedule of Diablo 3, Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm and World of Warcraft’s new expansion Mist of Pandaria. This comes across as very disappointing as BlizzCon is usually the time where Blizzard takes the stage to release huge announcements. Anything about their Playstation 3 development team that they’re building up? How about Project Titan? What about Blizzard DOTA and a potential beta test announcement?

Clearly Blizzard has a lot to do this year. Let’s hope they can keep up to schedule! We’ll see you in BlizzCon 2013 then!
