Pokémon Black/White 2 Announced for Nintendo DS

Well, here’s this big announcement promised regarding Pokémon and it’s probably not what people were expecting. Announced previously that they were going to make an announcement, Game Freak’s Junichi Masuda came onto the Japanese TV show Pokémon Smash and officially announced a sequel to Pokémon Black/White with Pokémon Black/White 2.
Normally when a Pokémon game gets released as a pair, there’s another single release that expands slightly on the previous games. Red and Blue had Yellow, Gold and Silver had Crystal and so on. This is a bit of an odd change up because not only is it not the assumed “Pokémon Gray” that we all would have guessed but it might just be a completely new generation of Pokémon altogether.
What I find to be odd is the fact that it’s a Nintendo DS game and not a Nintendo 3DS game. With that in mind, it could just very well be an expansion to the original Black/White. Who knows? Unfortunately no details were given other than these teaser images for the new legendary Pokémon.
