Today Capcom released a bit more info relating to DmC’s main character Dante and some explanation of his tools.
The Dante of DmC Devil May Cry is a young man with no respect for authority or society in general. Dante knows that he is not human, but also that he is not like the demons that have tormented him throughout his life. Caught between worlds, he feels like an an outcast.
Dante grew up in various institutions, orphanages, youth correction facilities and foster homes but these were mostly operated by demons and often resulted in torture and violence. Dante has therefore developed a deep hatred of demons and authority in general but tries to stay incognito. He sides with the little guy, the victims of what he sees as an unfair society.
The Rebellion sword was given to Dante by his father Sparda as a weapon with which he could protect him from the demons that haunt him. How Dante came into possession of Ebony & Ivory and where they come from is unknown.
There is a bit of a design philosophy behind the two weapons as well to show that they were both demonic and of that they were crafted ages ago. These features can be seen in the hilt of the sword as well as the handle of the guns.
DmC Devil May Cry will be available for PS3 and 360 in 2012.
