Mass Effect 3 Datapad Walkthrough And Impressions

Yes, Mass Effect 3 is much more than just the finale of Shepard’s long journey against the Reapers. With the Galaxy at War layer that is placed on top of Mass Effect 3, BioWare has been trying many ways to immerse the player into the grand world that is the Mass Effect Galaxy (not to be confused with Mass Effect Galaxy, the other iOS game).

It's almost 11:30PM, where are your children tonight?

The Mass Effect 3 Datapad is out now and it’s free for iOS. I heard that there might be an Android release later. But you might be asking “What the hell do I need this free App for when it’s not even a game?”

Glad you asked!

The Mass Effect 3 Datapad not only allows you to check up on the latest Mass Effect news but for anyone who wants a portable version of the Codex found in Mass Effect 3, you will have full access to everything that you have unlocked in the game so far. On top of this, you can get a few private messages from the various characters in Mass Effect based on the actions that you’ve done with them.

Essentially, this is more or less like Shepard’s portable cell phone,…o r I guess a portable datapad since it also works on the iPad.

Perhaps the thing that might be of interest to a few people who don’t want to buy the Infiltrator game or want anything to do with the Multiplayer, you can take part in a few missions to up your Galactic Readiness. Unfortunately, this is very slow and it’s much like Tiny Tower where you must wait a long period of time before you complete your mission. This is also added by the fact that you probably will start off getting only 1% every 4-5 hours. You will also get credits (only in the app) that you can use to buy upgrades to make the process faster.

Ouch.

It’s free and if you enjoy Mass Effect 3 in any way and you happen to have an iOS device, might as well get it and tie it into your Origin account just to see the cool stuff.

And no, this won’t change the ending of the game.
