Monkey Paw Needs $500,000 For Deluxe Physical Copies Of Class Of Heroes 2

Today, in talks with Kotaku, MonkeyPaw Games and partner Gaijinworks have announced that they will be releasing the latest titles in the canceled RPG series Class of Heroes. Class of Heroes 2 (PSP) and Class of Heroes 2G (PS3) will see digital releases on PSN. In addition to this, they have also announced that tomorrow they will be starting a Kickstarter program for getting physical copies out to the public.

If you’re unfamiliar with Kickstarter, it’s a fundraiser site in which people can pledge money to creative works and when the goal is met before the deadline, the project gets off the ground. In a nutshell, it allows users to fund projects in which they are interested in and allows the creators to keep full creative control over their own work. The effectiveness of such an endeavor can be seen with Double Fine’s Kickstarter which raised an exorbitant amount of money from the fans.

Even if they do not make the necessary funds, MonkeyPaw Games has stated that the plan to release both titles digitally will not change. Think of this as funding for a special edition of the title that will be available upon release. If this succeeds, the team has a “laundry list” of titles stuck in Japan that they hope to release over in North America. I hope I wasn’t the only one who thought of Valkyria Chronicles 3 when they read that. Hopefully they can succeed with their plan and we can see a larger number of titles come over that we missed out on.
