Where Did My Final Fantasy XIV E3 Trailer Go?

Hey, remember this awesome image? Yeah, it’s Square Enix showing off Final Fantasy XIV 2.0, at least a concept of it. Heck, they even released a road map that would lay out their amazing plans for the revival of this MMORPG that ultimately failed right out of the door.
For E3 2012, they said that they were going to reveal a new trailer that would show off the new features and to get people excited about this game again. You know, because people may still care about this game.
Personally, I don’t. Even after logging in during their free play campaign that they had for the past few weeks, which also happened during the release of Diablo III. That’s probably why I forgot about it.
However, for those that do; Final Fantasy XIV Producer Naoki Yoshida has announced that they won’t be showing their completed E3 trailer at E3 2012. Instead, they opt to release a bunch of information all in one go in order to try to get the best effectiveness in getting more awareness. In his words it’s better to provide a “flood of new material rather than just a trickle.”
…
E3, or the Electronic Entertainment Expo, is an industry event where most of the stuff that we can look forward in the next year or so is presented and shown all over the place. With so much coverage being done by media (ourselves included), the effectiveness of getting the word about your game is pretty damn high at E3.
Never mind the fact that E3 would be the perfect place to show their completed trailer, Final Fantasy XIV’s popularity is dwindling with every second. Despite the many changes that have been done to improve the game, chances are that unless they make a pretty big showing, no one is going to care about a PlayStation 3 version. E3 is their opportunity, and it is a bit shocking to see them suddenly holding back. Considering the bold moves such as adding the subscription model back for a game that is still under constant construction, and completely changing removing the original staff…
… To be frank, I don’t even know what Final Fantasy XIV is any more.
Oh yeah, how about those Final Fantasy XIV codes that you got with your copy of Final Fantasy XIII on PlayStation 3? Yeah…
