Ubisoft E3 2012 Press Conference

Well, I must nod my head off to Ubisoft’s conference. I was excited to finally see some game play of Assassin’s Creed III, Rayman Legends, and Splinter Cell. However, I was thrown off my seat when Watch Dogs was revealed.

Watch Dogs is a game set in the future, where an individual person is merely a cluster of data accessible to the entire world. In a world composed of data, it is like a hacker’s dream come true. That’s where the game play comes in. From the demonstration of the game, you control a man named Aiden Pierce who can hack into pretty much anything and interact with the environment, making the world one giant plaything. The segment shown combined a bit of stealth movements such as eavesdropping, and technical mechanics such as hacking and jamming. The demonstration was played using a PlayStation 3 controller, but it might be a safe bet to say this will appear on multiple platforms.

Joining in on hosting Ubisoft’s conference was Toby “Tobuscus” Turner, who you may be familiar with since he’s the guy responsible for those LITERAL renditions of trailers. You can check his work out here.

We also got to see a round of the ShootMania Marathon, an e-sports competition of the game ShootMania Storm, an FPS online multiplayer game developed by Nadeo studio, the creators of TrackMania.

Overall, I’d say Ubisoft took off running and ended flying. They sure do love that Wii U, though.
