Phantasy Star Online 2 Will Have Separate Regional Servers

In a 4Gamer interview with Satoshi Sakai, the producer of Phantasy Star Online 2, he has answered a few questions in regards to the foreign audience. Specifically, he stated that each region where the game will be released will have their own separate servers, but North America and Europe will share. The primary reason for this is because of the laws involving real money transactions between different nations and countries.

While disappointing to hear, Sakai does plan on making each region’s content unique to reflect their appropriate nation and country. This will most likely boil down to seasonal events and promotional items.
