Sonic Adventure 2 XBLA/PSN HD Port Announced

To complete the pairing that was originally released on the Dreamcast, SEGA has announced that Sonic Adventure 2 will be released on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. Announced during their Sonic Boom 2012 event during the events of San Diego Comic Con, this release will feature all of your fancy HD port stuff such as HD graphics, leaderboards, trophies and cheevos.

Planned to be released later this year in 2012, I was not able to confirm if it will be based on the GameCube Sonic Adventure 2 Battle release. It’s a safe assumption, though it should be noted that when the first Sonic Adventure came out, the Director’s Cut portions that were in the GameCube/PC release were separate DLC. Though, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle really did not introduce too many things for it to be imperative for this release.
